Edifice was founded in Lagos in 2014 around a simple observation: most architecture in the region was either imported wholesale from elsewhere or built without architects at all. The gap between those two extremes is where the practice has worked ever since.

Twelve years on, Edifice works across residential, cultural, commercial and public architecture, with a research arm that studies how its own buildings perform once occupied — feeding directly back into how the next project is briefed.
